Born Pretty Store Review - Turquoise Stone Nail Decorations

So today I have another review from the Born Pretty Store, this time being some lovely turquoise stones* for your nails.  Follow me under the cut for my review of the product.

Barry M Guava and Gold Foil
These gemstones are described as nail stickers on the Born Pretty website but I couldn't find adhesive on the back but never fear, these little stones apply really nicely onto the nail with either nail glue or top coat (I used top coat).

I recently cut my nails so they are a good bit shorter than I have been used to for the past few weeks or months but the stones don't seem too big for the available space.  Saying that, the stones are larger than your standard nail gem so I recommend only doing one or two accent nails, otherwise they might seem bit too much.

I've worn these nails for four days now and there is no sign of the stones moving from the nail.  I've washed dishes, showered, typed and worked with these nails so I haven't treated my hands with kid gloves in case the stones do decide to lift off.  I used a saw for goodness sake (don't ask) and there was no movement at all.

So a little bit about the design on the nails.  If you're a fan of my blog, you'll recognise the design as being similar to my Porcelain nails.  Because of the quality and colour of these stones, I wanted to do something luxe but subtle at the same time so I thought turquoise and gold would be a great colour combination.  Barry M's Gold Foil is great for doing gilded style nail art as the foil effect replicates that of real gold and Guava is a highly pigmented turquoise blue with a great sheen.

Overall, I would definitely recommend these 3D nail decorations because they are something different from the standard bows and gems you see and they do add a bit of luxury to your nails.  I've been surprised by the longevity of this manicure to be honest but it might just be the sheer amount of top coat I used to stick them down LOL.  They are available in two different colours/patterns and I chose #2 and are currently priced at $0.99 or £0.62 for 5 stones.

  1. Beautiful! I love how the stone adds some physical dimension to the design. And turquoise + gold looks lovely.

  2. I love the combination of turquoise and gold! I have a bad habit of always picking at gems/studs whenever I wear them, though :P
