I thought that the best way to start off the blog in 2014 was to celebrate Pantone's Colour of 2014 - Radiant Orchid! It's been the focus of much media attention these past few weeks and I thought it would be cool to explore what shades I have in my collection that would match this colour and how you can wear the colour in different ways and still be on trend.
My first swatch of Pantone Colour of 2014 week is Jacava London's Blueberry Muffin. You might have seen in my previous post that I won a competition on Jacava's facebook and Blueberry Muffin was one of the colours included. Join me under the cut for more photos and my opinions on this polish.
Jacava London Blueberry MuffinBlueberry Muffin is a darker lilac creme polish with high pigmentation so if you apply it right, you could get away with one coat but I used two just to be sure. It's photographed more cool toned than it is but this polish is one of the best matches I could find to Radiant Orchid. Since I've had this polish on my nails, I just can't stop looking at my hands. I think this shade is so easy to wear in that it's not too pastel or dramatically dark so it can work for both day and night. It makes a nice change from the lighter lilacs you find more often in nail polish collections. Now onto more pictures...
Blueberry Muffin is currently on sale on Jacava's website for £11.00, you can buy it here. I've just checked and my Christmas promotional code still works so you can get a further 15% off when you use the code '201315F' but I'm not sure how long this will last.
I know £11.00 may seem like a lot for a bottle of nail polish but Jacava London's polishes are 8-free, cruelty free and their bottles have 22-carat gold writing on them.
I look forward to the rest of my week exploring the Radiant Orchid colour and don't worry, there will be some nail art in the next post ;-P Until next time!
