Fly Away With Me

I've been wanting to do these nails for quite a while since they are inspired by one of my favourite scarves, which I got from White Stuff (where I work).  The cute hot air balloon print with the blush pink background makes for a really sweet and cute design that could be reinterpreted for a Valentine's Day manicure.

Inglot 331, O.P.I Playing the Peonies and Models Own Nail Art Pen
For this nail art, I used two coats of Inglot 331, a pale blush pink, and one coat of Playing the Peonies to add a little bit of shimmer to the base colour.  I then freehanded the designs on my nails, which were all taken from my scarf.

As you can see, the pattern on the scarf is darker than the blue I used for the design but for sheer convenience, I used the Models Own Nail Art Pen.  I wanted to make each nail different, hence why everything is on a different scale and focussing on different aspects of the design.

My favourite design has to be my thumb.  I kind of wish I had done that entire design on every nail but hey, this is how things go!  Also, check out my new short nails!  I had a TERRIBLE nail split on my right thumb so I knew it was time to get everything trimmed before any other nails get damaged.  I like this more rounded shape and I just need to remember to keep a file in my bag so I can maintain the shape whilst still growing the nails because I do like my nails to have a bit more length :-)

When was the last time you based a manicure on an item of clothing?  Let me know in the comments below and make sure to follow me by the following sites to keep up to date with all the Flails and Nails goings ons, until next time :-)
