It Is A Truth Universally Acknowledged That...

A nail blogger in possession of many nail polish is in want of the perfect nude polish.  Come on, the polish is called Oh, Mr. Darcy so I couldn't resist LOL.

So these freehand lace nails are inspired by the base colour, the aforementioned nude colour and it's name, the 2005 adaptation and The Illustrated Nail's tutorial for ASOS.  Since I only had a brush and dotter to work with, my design is a little more linear so it is for sure not the same as The Illustrated Nail's version but I think I did alright with the tools I had (my Models Own white nail art pen is all blocked up and my Barry M one is far too thick for this sort of detailing).

Rimmel Oh, Mr. Darcy (Salon Pro) and Models Own White Light (Hypergel)

Like I mentioned above, I think this shade is one of the best nude colours I have in my collection.  The formula is quite thin so one coat would create a sheer layer of colour which would be perfect for darker skin tones, or you can build up the layers for an opaque finish.  I used three thin coats on the above manicure.  It's a purple toned taupe colour which is why I think I like it so much because it's cool toned, so goes with my skin tone a lot better than other taupe shades.

It's been a while since I've done an Inspired By post.  If I had my way, I'd be doing manicures inspired by various different historical films every day but you know, I try to mix it up for you guys LOL

What's your favourite nude shade?  Also, what's your favourite nail polish name?  Let me know in the comments below and be sure to follow me by the sites below as well as signing up for email updates at the side -> Until next time :-)
