Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing Nail Paints* Swatches and Review

It seems that daylight curing polishes are the trend du jour with Barry M's latest collection adding to the increasing number of at-home long lasting manicure treatments.  Currently a collection of seven classic shades, the Sunset Daylight Curing nail paints promise up to ten days chip-free wear so let's see if they live up to their promise.

All of the following swatches are with three thin coats of colour and a layer of the Daylight Curing topcoat, my thoughts on the polishes will be after the swatches :-)

Barry M Do It Like A Nude (Sunset)

Barry M I've Been Pinkin' (Sunset)

Barry M Peach For the Stars (Sunset)

Barry M Can't Get You Out of My Red (Sunset)

 Barry M Fushia Generation (Sunset)

Barry M The Way You Make Me Teal (Sunset)

Barry M You Drive Me Navy

Thoughts...the colours in the range are nothing revolutionary but are definitely more of a capsule colour collection.  You've got a nude, brights, neons, classic reds and darker shades.  The selling point of this collection is not the colours (although they are really nice) but the long lasting daylight curing system.  I personally wore The Way You Make Me Teal for about six days and all I could see in terms of chipping was some tip wear which is to be expected.  The polishes feature the wide rounded brush which we saw with the Speedy collection so for those who feel like they always make a mess when painting their nails then check out these polishes.

Personally, I think they deliver on their promise, as does my Mummy who wore Can't Get You Out of My Red for nearly a week as well with minimal chipping (and as I've mentioned before, a lot of polishes just come off her nails straight away).

The formula of the polishes are a bit on the thin side so I felt three coats was necessary to get an even, opaque coat of colour but I think this is the case across daylight curing polishes in general since I felt the Kiko polishes were a bit thin too but the nail paints dry pretty quickly so you're not waiting long between coats really.

If you're looking for a nail system to keep polish on your nails for the work week then I'd definitely give this collection a look.  My fave colours would have to be Can't Get You Out of My Red and Fushia Generation, stunning STUNNING COLOURS.  While the Sunset collection don't have the same raised look at gel (that'll be done with the Plumpy top coat which I've to test out for you guys) it's long lasting but without the hassle of removal.

The Barry M Sunset Daylight Curing nail paints are priced at £4.99 each and can be purchased from Barry M, Superdrug and Boots.  Superdrug currently have 3 for 2 at the moment across all cosmetics and Boots have buy one, get the second half price so there's no excuse LOL.  Just remember that the polishes only work as long lasting with the special top coat from the range.
