Soigné Botanique Nails - Swatches and Review*

It's all about swatches today on the blog with three Spring shades from Soigné, a 5-free, vegan polish brand which can contain up to 85% plant-based natural ingredients. They've currently got a good sale on and some of the shades below are included so if any tickle your fancy, take a cheeky trip over to the Soigné website. Anyway, let's get cracking into some swatches!

Crème Pâtissière, Truffle and Menthe

Crème Pâtissière is a gorgeous, buttery yellow. It is quite a thin formulation so it took four coats to get opacity. As it is a pastel shade, thin, patchy formulations are usually the norm so most take three or four coats so its not unusual but its not a colour you'd like to be applying in a rush. As you can see, without top coat, it has a lovely shiny finish but with the additional layers and drying time, not one for gals on the go but a lovely shade none-the-less.

Truffle is a deep charcoal grey shade. Unlike Crème Pâtissière, Truffle was a two-coater. The deep pigmentation of the shade means that opacity is easily achievable in two coats. I'm a sucker for greys (I still wish I had the entire 50 Shades of Grey collection by OPI) and Truffle reminds me of one of my all-time faves, Faded by Flossgloss. Again, this swatch is without top coat so you can see the polish's own shiny finish.

Mente is a pale, mint shade. It is showing up a bit more blue on my screen but it does have a definite green tone. Menthe sits inbetween Truffle and Crème Pâtisière in terms of opacity and formulation, needing three coats to cover the nail evenly. I'm a sucker for mint shades and this one is a winner for me. Again, no top coat and it has a pretty shiny finish.

Since all the polishes have a thinner formula, they don't take too long to dry but on some shades, you make up for this by having to apply more coats than usual. Polishes from Soigné are usually £11 but with their current sale, some polishes (including Crème Pâtisière and Truffle!) are currently only £4.95. Whilst Soigné may sit on the more expensive side of the spectrum, they are 5-free, vegan friendly and come with gorgeous packaging that would look great on anyone's vanity.

What shades are you loving from this post? There are a few I'm already eyeing up on the website that are on sale...I might just have to treat myself ;P Until next time!
