Christmas Baubles

So this is the first in my more 'glamourous' manicures for Christmas, I guess.  There are 50 gems across my two hands and while it may look complicated, it is quite simple to do, just rather time consuming.

O.P.I Lincoln Park After Dark and Barry M Gold Foil
If you follow me on instagram, you would have seen that I have recently acquired Lincoln Park After Dark.  It's one of those shades that will never go out of fashion and is a basic for any nail enthusiast and I'm just so glad to have it in my nail polish box.

It really does look black as I used two coats of the polish but around the edges, you can see that it is a very dark purple.  The formula is fantastic but not much has to be said about this classic OPI shade.  I used a striper brush to create the gold lines or ribbons that the 'baubles' or gems are hanging from.

My gems are a mixture from a nail wheel from Poundland and another from H&M.  I used a small dot of top coat and placed the gem on top.  Once I placed all of my gems, I gave the entire nail a coat of topcoat to help seal everything in.

This manicure is definitely fashion over function and since I'm working tonight, I expect to loose a few gems in the process but I'll update you on the situation LOL (this is when you should use nail glue probably)

Would you try out this look on your entire hand or just an accent?  Let me know in the comments below and remember to follow me on twitter, instagram, facebook, tumblr and bloglovin' (or even GFC).  Until next time :-)

  1. I think it would be pretty cool as an accent nail and you could even try to add more baubles in to make it extra special LOL

  2. Hi, stopping by from Blogger Bootcamp! I love your blog's color scheme, everything looks very neat and tidy, and you have a great logo (not to mention your amazing nails)! My one critique would be that I think your header area is a little too tall. I have a pretty big monitor, but even so, the first post doesn't start until almost the bottom of my screen. Maybe get rid of some of the white space above your logo and move your follow buttons to the sidebar? If you put them right at the top of the sidebar people will still be able to find them! :-)

  3. Cheers for the feedback, I'll see what I can do about editing the header and social media buttons :-)
