My Nails Smell AMAZING
Models Own Blueberry Muffin and Maybelline Surreal
Looking at the colour palette of my nail art, it's pretty clear that I love a good pastel polish so when Models Own released their Fruit Scented Pastel collection, I was very excited. The only problem was that because I own so many pastels already, I felt a bit guilty even contemplating buying MORE but when I saw this gorgeous baby blue/purple, I had to buy it and the scratch and sniff sticker on top sold it to me. In an earlier nail polish haul, I got this gorgeous shade of lavender from Maybelline and once I placed the two colours together, I knew I had to do some cool nail art with them.
I think Blueberry Muffin is a great alternative to Blue Moon by Barry M which is one of my all time favourites. It's a bit more purple than Blue Moon but it's formula makes up for it. Blue Moon is a bit patchy and sheer at times but Blueberry Muffin is thicker and more pigmented. My only gripe is that the nail polish, as it comes out of the bottle, gets quite tacky quickly so you have to close the bottle and give it a wee shimmy after every other nail which can be annoying but its necessary unless you want those thin whisps of nail polish hanging everywhere.
I thought once I put top coat and another polish on top of Blueberry Muffin it would lose its smell but by jingo it hasn't. I was in work yesterday and got everyone to smell my nails and they all said they smelled lovely. I love the idea of scented nail polish but was a bit skeptical about it keeping its scent but this had two coats of top coat and another nail polish on top and two days later it still smells delightful. I know Revlon have some scented nail polishes as well but I haven't had a chance to check them out yet. Boots are currently running 3 for 2 on Models Own polishes and it is oh-so-tempting to buy more.
In other news, over on the side bar, you can see a code for the Born Pretty Store which will cater to your every nail art need. The code gets readers on my blog 10% off so if you want some brushes, studs or decals, now's the time to grab them!
More news, I'm going to be VERY bogged down with uni work until mid-September and I'm doing some work at the beginning of August that means I can't wear nail polish for nearly two weeks soooooo posts will probably just be once a week and I'll be doing some tutorials with nail wheels and nail polish recommendations so if you have any tutorial requests or picture requests concerning nail polish, let me know. I'm always posting on instagram and facebook and might be reblogging more of other people's stuff on my tumblr so check those out but otherwise, I'll see you in a few days :-)
Oh thank you :-)
